Welcome to this term's page.
This year we have adopted the Opening Worlds Curriculum which will take 4 years to embed!
In History we are focusing on the Viking invasion of Britain and Viking culture and beliefs
In Geography we are focusing on Settlements and Agriculture
In RE we are focusing on Hinduism: traditions and Judaism: Abraham, Isaac and Jacob
In Science we are focussing on Forces, and Earth and Space.
Our class story is Windrush Child by Benjamin Zephaniah. This will be used as inspiration for much of this term's English.

Air resistance
Oak had great fun investigating the effects of air resistance! They nearly took off!
Martial Arts
This term's PE is martial arts training. Fabulous fun throwing your friends!
Colour
We have been learning basic colour theory - complimentary, contrasting and tonal colours. The children have learnt new techniques using tempura paints.
Investigating Levers!
Oak used their understanding of lever mechanisms to lift Mr H!
Meditation
After learning about Shiva meditating on Mount Kailash, they tried their own version of meditation.
Smoothies
In preparation for developing their own smoothie recipes, Oak tasted a range of juices and smoothies. Some were rather 'yummy' , others ...!

Football success
10 members of Oak travelled to Bristol after winning the Cornwall small schools football competition. They represented Cornwall against schools from all over southern England. They played superbly and were true ambassadors for their school and community.
Debating
Oak have been writing balanced arguments on weather homework should be banned. As a culmination of their work, they developed further arguments on whether or not SATs should continue. They planned for and against arguments in teams and delivered their arguments in our own debating chamber. The 'secret' vote at the end of Q and As revealed that this House believes that SATS should NOT be banned!
