Personal, Social and Health Education
At St Teath C.P School, we believe that when children leave our school, they do so with the knowledge, understanding and emotions to be able to play an active role in today’s society. We want our children to have high aspirations, a belief in themselves and realise that anything is possible if they put their mind to it. We integrate PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic) education, emotional literacy, social skills and spiritual development in a whole-school approach. Our sex and relationship education unit of work aims to give children their entitlement to information about relationships, puberty and human reproduction, appropriate to their ages and stages of development. It is treated in a matter-of-fact manner to allay embarrassment and fear.
We want for our pupils to develop a confidence in sharing their own thoughts and opinions with others, to develop skills and attributes to keep themselves healthy and safe, to develop an attitude of a responsible global citizen. Also our pupils are supported to show tolerance of others beliefs, religions and life choices whilst building a positive, respectful relationships with other people.
